                  The political Dichotomy In Ajeromi

Ajeromi ifelodun local Government is a mini Nigeria in diversity of language, cultural belief system, religion, norms and value. She  is a community of artisan, sport(especially football and  athletics) and traders, her role in political milieu of the nation cannot be over-emphasized, right from the Badagry  to Ojo division before she become a full flesh sovereign local government area with a Local Community Development Area ( Ifelodun L.C.D.A).

Political activities in Ajeromi  usually cannot be define or straighten to a common course or goal to lift up the goodwill of the local government despite  her strength in determining the expected outcome of any election in Lagos State, in attainment of Executive portfolio at the Federal or State level of Government to show for their immersed contribution, because of the inter-play between Groups or better still Caucus, personal interest, greed and insatiable desire to amass  wealth by an individual  at the detriment of over one million seven hundred thousand (1.7 million) of people that domicile in the local Government.

The political activities always get to the peak anytime an election is fast approaching, especially the local government election, the Leadership throw out all mechanism and strategy to over ride the interest of the majority against their own personal interest. They tend to achieve this through propaganda, conspiracy, assault or defamation of character. But with the outcome of the last general election of 2015 where the Ruling party APC lost the federal house of representative and State legislative seat to the PDP due to subjugation of the party as a second fiddle to an election she is supposed to be the umpire instead caucus , anti party become the order of the day.

The aftermath of this ugly experience has arose massive consciousness among the true party member of APC Ajeromi Chapter with the popular slogan ‘’OUR MUMU DON DO’’ pidgin, because the lost of these seat to PDP is due to power tussle among the leadership, caucus become stronger than the party or better still an individual stronger that the Party forgetting that success in any election is a team work.

This is a call to the leadership of All progressive Congress (A.P.C) both at the federal, state and local government to be watchful because the consciousness of the electorate is growing day after day in other words, the electorate no longer have 100% zeal for party but looking  forward to  any individual that is popular, with the expected quality to lead them to the promise land for example President Buhari victory at the last presidential election, where electorate throng to the streets in ecstasy to celebrate the victory .

We are not saying the party is not important to achieve success in any election, in fact the party is supreme, but the party should have human face of adopting the choice of the people, because Democracy is the government of the people, by the people and for the people.
